The South African Music Awards (SAMAs) will be hosted in KwaZulu-Natal for the next three years and the Cultural and Creative Industries Federation of South Africa (CCIFSA) says local artists will benefit from this.
CCIFSA KZN Chairperson, Thokozani “T’zozo” Zulu, was so vocal about the issue during his visit to Voice On The Move Radio studios.
“We are busy negotiating with the Department of Sports Arts & Culture to do activations all over KZN. Citizens from all corners of the province should feel the SAMAs vibe. Hosting such a prestigious event should make a difference in both established and upcoming artists’ lives.
“It looks like we are winning that battle,” he said.
T’zozo says they are also putting systems in place with the government to ensure that cabinet reshuffles don’t negatively affect artists.
Idols Season 12 winner, Noma Khumalo, who is now the CCIFSA KZN Deputy Secretary and Joy Mbewana who heads up the organisation nationally were also in attendance.
