The Reaction Unit South Africa has recovered a floating body of a 62 year old man who drowned at Ogunjini River in Osindisweni KZN last night.
The man was coming from a party in the area with his friends when they attempted crossing the river but the elderly male was swept away after trying to cross the river.
Resident contacted the RUSA Operations Centre at approximately 09:27 requesting assistance to recover the man’s body from the river.
RUSA Officers were immediately called and, the RUSA R44 Helicopter took off to provide aerial support.
On arrival, it was established that residents entered the water and recovered the body prior to the arrival of First Responders.
It is alleged that this man was drunk at the time of the incident
Reaction Unit Paramedics examined the man and declared him deceased this morning.
