Kenville community receives temporary relief after fire claimed pregnant woman

EThekwini Deputy Mayor Councillor Zandile Myeni visited the Kenville informal settlements to provide temporary relief to the 236 displaced families following the fires that broke in the early hours of Sunday morning which claimed the life of a pregnant woman.

Deputy Mayor Myeni said the City has garnered support from various stakeholders, including provincial and the department of Human Settlements from the national government, to provide relief to displaced residents.

“Municipal units, stakeholders, government institutions, and non-profit organisations are distributing family parcels, which include food, blankets and mattresses,” said Deputy Mayor Myeni.
