Magesi FC Appoints a New Assistant Coach

Betway Premiership side Magesi FC has appointed a new assistant coach following the departure of Papi Zothwane, who previously served as assistant to head coach Clinton Larsen. The club is hoping to do better in the second round of the season, they have promoted their Dstv Diski Challenge team coach. Timothy Madia to come assist coach Owen Da Gama who is a head coach. Madia will also work along with Jacky Ledwaba to help Magesi avoid Relegation, he has served as an assistant coach in the Mostepe Foundation championship so hes very much familiar with the team. After 13 games Magesi have only managed to win 1 game and they are currently at the bottom of the league.

Durban City Suffers a Defeat

Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders, Durban City, faced a surprising defeat on 17 January at Mpumalanga’s Solomon Mahlangu Stadium against Castric Stars. Durban City, led by coach Simo Dladla, started with their usual lineup, but things didn’t go their way. They lost 1-0 after a first-half goal by Lobogang Lesako. Things looked like they were going to change in first half with city knocking several times to castric goalkeeper but they couldnt find the back of the net This means that city will remain ontop of the log with 3points clear but could move by the end of today if Orbit college win their game and score more goals , they will both be on 31 points , meanwhile castric moved to the 5th place with 24 points Meanwhile in gelvandale stadium in PE , Highbury FC defeated ama tuks by 2-0 and they moved to 8th position and tuks went down to 9th position.

Former Springbok coach turned politician

Former Springboks coach Peter De Villiers has been officially welcomed into the uMkhonto WeSizwe Party (MKP) by the party’s Deputy President Dr. John Hlophe at a ceremony this week. De Villiers was previously a member of Partricia De Lille’s GOOD party before being kicked out after allegations of sexual misconduct in march, 2024.The decision to join a predominantly black party has attracted criticism for De Villiers. In an interview, Hlophe stated that the MKP allows freedom of participation regardless of skin colour. I am convinced the MKP will grow. We are here to make real and meaningful participation. The former Springboks coach expressed his enthusiasm about joining the party. He also stated that he will use his sports experience in his new political home. As a Springboks coach, I had the opportunity to allow people to think for themselves, to act and to make the country proud Hlophe said that the MKP is excited to have De Villiers and they are confident in his leadership capabilities.

Players get paid, but chaos continues at Royal AM

As previously reported that Royal Am football club have not paid their players december salaries that resulted to them not reporting for training . South African Players Union (SAFPU) has now confirmed in a statement that players have been fully payed by Royal Am . According to our close sources more chaos could be brewing at the club as on monday players were suppose to resume training but itwas canceled on the last minute via a whatsApp group that includes the team management, no valid reason was provided on why the Training was canceled On Tuesday morning, players arrived for training at The Ranch, only to find the gates locked. Security personnel stated they were owed money by the club, raising serious questions about whether the team will be able to honor their Betway Premiership fixture against Orlando Pirates on January 23rd at Harry Gwala Stadium. Attempts to reach the club’s General Manager, Richard Makhoba, were unsuccessful, as calls went directly to voicemail.
