SANTACO KZN & Scholar Transport Continue to Join Forces

Plans to formalise the scholar transport programme (omalume) are in full swing as SANTACO KZN reaches out to them.  In a dialogue held at the Durban Exhibition Centre on Sunday where representative from both parties were present, plans to ensure the safety of the scholars and rewarding good drivers were discussed.  SANTACO KZN Chaiperson, Mr Boy Zondi, was amongst the speakers. SANTACO KZN celebrates peace between KwaMaphumulo and KwaDukuza

Dawn of a new era as KwaMaphumulo and KwaDukuza Taxi Associations smoke the peace pipe! In Ilembe, history was made when two associations raised the white flag and stopped the hostility that has raged between them for over ten years. Peace was sealed by a big feast which was attended by Mr Boy Zondi, the Chairman of SANTACO KZN. Mr Zondi applauded the brave display of leadership by the associations and all parties who intervened to help reach peace successfully. The event was attended by high ranking members of SANTACO KZN, Department of Transport and the Municipalities of KwaMaphumulo and KwaDukuza.

SANTACO Slams Killings of Taxi Operators

SANTACO KZN Chairperson – Boy Zondi SANTACO KZN Chairperson, Boy Zondi says killing of taxi operators is taking the industry backwards. This comes after Chairperson of Klipriver Taxi Association, Mr Bhekuyise Masondo, was gunned down on Friday. This tragic incidence was followed by another shooting of the Executive member, Mr Sifiso Hadebe, who was under the same association. Mr Zondi has called on the police and leadership of the taxi industry alike to leave no stone unturned in their efforts to bring perpetrators to book.  “The Taxi Industry has worked tirelessly to achieve lasting peace in this industry, criminal elements are taking the industry backwards,” he said. On behalf of SANTACO, the Chairman sends his sincere and heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed.
